What a Bodor laser ships with
| Part | Bodor's name | Where Bodor says so |
|---|---|---|
| Control system | BodorThinker | Core components page; i-Series spec table |
| Cutting head | BodorGenius | Core components page; i-Series spec table |
| Laser source | BodorPower | Core components page |
| Nesting | BodorNest | Core components page; an option on the i-Series |
Bodor calls each of these self-developed. It says BodorThinker uses EtherCAT with a 1 ms communication response time and has built-in nesting; its blog describes BodorNest arranging imported parts for highest efficiency or highest material usage, and laying out new parts on remnants.
Files BodorThinker reads
Bodor's i-Series brochure (2022) lists G-code (NC), DXF, PLT and ENG. Bodor's 2025 beginner guide lists G-code, DXF, DWG, PLT and ENG, moved to the machine by USB or network. Neither says which DXF versions, entities, layers or units it accepts.
What Zorocut exports for a Bodor
One ASCII DXF per sheet, R2000 (or R12), in mm, with only LINE, ARC and CIRCLE on five layers — ZC_CUT, ZC_MARK, ZC_ENGRAVE, ZC_SHEET, ZC_LABEL — and the sheet's lower-left corner at 0,0. No splines, no blocks, no polylines: the most conservative DXF we can write. For an importer whose rules are not published that is the best bet, not a guarantee.
Settings in Zorocut
- Machine tab: kind Fiber laser, your power in W, Controller Other.
- Export profile DXF R2000; try R12 if BodorThinker refuses the file.
- Part labels and Sheet outline off, so only cut and mark geometry reaches the controller.
- Copy the sheet files to the machine by USB stick or network, open one in BodorThinker and check a part's size against the drawing before cutting — see DXF units if it is 25.4 times off.
Not verified yet
- No Bodor import has been done with a Zorocut file.
- Bodor publishes no BodorThinker manual we could open: how it maps DXF layers and reads units, text and arcs is not documented.
- Which BodorThinker version a given machine runs is not stated on Bodor's pages.
Frequently asked questions
Does a Bodor run CypCut?
Not according to Bodor: it lists BodorThinker as its own, self-developed control system. If your machine's screen shows CypCut, it is a different setup — use the CypCut page.
Do I need BodorNest if I use Zorocut?
No. Either one nests the sheet. BodorNest works inside Bodor's system; Zorocut nests and prices the job in the office and hands BodorThinker a finished DXF per sheet.
Is Zorocut affiliated with Bodor?
No. BodorThinker and BodorNest are Bodor products; the names are used here only to describe compatibility.
