What this tool does

It reads each DXF, closes small gaps, removes duplicate lines and runs the pre-cut check, so you see what would go wrong at the machine before anything is cut.

It nests the parts true-shape on your sheet with the Zorocut engine, compiled to WebAssembly and running in this tab. Small parts can land inside the holes of big ones.

It prices the job with the same quote engine as Zorocut Nest: machine time from cut length, pierces and corners, plus material, setup and margin.

Each sheet downloads as a DXF with lines, arcs and circles on ZC_CUT, ZC_MARK and ZC_ENGRAVE layers, ready to import in CypCut, FSCUT or Raytools.

A worked example

100 plates of 100 × 50 mm with four Ø10 mm holes, cut from 3 mm mild steel with oxygen on a 3 kW fiber laser at €90 an hour. Each plate has 0.426 m of cut and 5 pierces. At the starter speed of 3.5 m/min and 0.4 s per pierce, one plate takes about 16.8 s; the order needs 0.80 machine hours with setup and one sheet. With material at €1.20/kg (an estimate a shop would replace), a 25 % material markup and a 10 % margin, each plate costs about €1.02.

Limits

  • ASCII DXF and SVG; binary DXF and DWG are not read here.
  • Speeds and pierce times are starter defaults (the lower bound of published charts). Your machine will differ: calibrate in Zorocut Nest.
  • The browser tool nests for a few seconds; the desktop app can search longer and keeps your settings, remnants and job list.
  • Lead-ins, micro-joints and kerf compensation stay in your controller.
