The layer count matters for one choice only: where the marking goes. In CypCut the last two of its 16 layers are special — layer 15 is processed first, layer 16 last — and the Bochu tutorial maps marking to layer 15. CypCutE has 17 layers; the manuals we read do not say whether its first-processed layer is still number 15, so look at the layer bar before you map ZC_MARK.
What Zorocut exports for FSCUT
Exactly the file it writes for CypCut. Choosing FSCUT as the controller in Zorocut's Machine tab names the machine on its chip, in the job history and in the totals your account keeps; the DXF itself does not change. It is one ASCII DXF per sheet, R2000 (or R12), in mm, with only LINE, ARC and CIRCLE entities on ZC_CUT, ZC_MARK, ZC_ENGRAVE, ZC_LABEL and ZC_SHEET, and the sheet's lower-left corner at 0,0.
Mapping on an FSCUT machine
- Copy the sheet files to the controller PC (USB stick or network share) and import one in CypCut or CypCutE.
- In the Layer mapping dialog: ZC_CUT to the cut layer for this material, ZC_MARK to the first-processed layer, ZC_LABEL and ZC_SHEET to layer 0, which is not processed.
- Add lead-ins, kerf compensation and micro-joints, simulate, then cut the first sheet.
The same mapping works on every job, because the five layer names never change. The guide Export DXF for CypCut and FSCUT explains each layer.
Several FSCUT machines in one shop
Add each one in the Machine tab with its own name, power and output folder: a 1.5 kW sheet laser and a 6 kW one get different starter speeds and different quotes for the same part. The Shop plan includes 3 machines; Free and Cutter are for one.
Not verified yet
- No FSCUT import has been done with a Zorocut file yet: cut a scrap sheet first.
- Bochu also makes HypCut, which CypNest writes task files for; we have not read a HypCut manual, so it is not covered here.
- Whether CypCutE remembers a layer mapping between imports is not stated in the manuals we read.
Najczęstsze pytania
Is FSCUT the same as CypCut?
No. FSCUT is Bochu's controller hardware; CypCut or CypCutE is the software on its PC. You import the DXF in the software.
Do I need a different export for an E model?
No. CypCutE reads the same DXF; only its layer bar has 17 layers instead of 16.
Can Zorocut send the job to the FSCUT controller?
No. Zorocut never drives a machine and never writes G-code. It writes DXF files into a folder; the operator opens them in CypCut.
